Making the shift to a Fiduciary: Fidelity Investments Advisor Joins ACG’s RIA Group

This month ACG Wealth welcomes Ryan Malec to our practice. Ryan is an experienced financial advisor who was formerly with Fidelity Investments where he served high net worth clients in over 400 households across the Southeast.

A Shift in Approach

While Ryan’s approach to serving his clients at Fidelity entailed a deep level of planning, he felt there was a different way to serve clients with a more comprehensive approach. To do this, he saw the need to act in a fiduciary capacity, enabling him to refine his practice. At ACG, he will help clients plan for their goals, grow and protect their money in an objective fashion that puts their interests first and to exercise a higher degree of oversight.

Ryan sees his greatest skill as his ability to articulately communicate “with just about anybody, whether you have 500k or 100MM.” What he brings to ACG is his depth of experience working with a broad array of clients as well as a deep knowledge of financial planning.

Why ACG?

As Ryan’s goal is to work objectively and to provide more in-depth planning for clients who really need it, he sought a company with the resources to enable him to address the more complex client situations that arise in estate planning and tax planning. For example, Ryan wanted access to a wider range of investment strategies such as alternatives or actively managed choices which he has seen his larger clients increasingly ask him about. ACG has a broad platform of investment strategies that are robust in nature due to their history of acquiring different practices from around the country.

He also appreciated ACG’s open architecture platform and ties to the community which allows him to choose which attorneys, accountants and other centers of influence he can work with instead of a set roster.

Moreover, Ryan felt that ACG’s growth trend and strong company culture was a fit for where he wanted to be. “When it comes down to choosing a firm you look at the leadership and what they are trying to accomplish. The future looks ripe for ACG and what they are trying to accomplish and I’d like to be a part of it.”
